Sessions & Fees
Choosing psychotherapy and counselling is an investment in your well-being, your relationships, and your future. It’s time intentionally set aside for you — to reflect, to grow, and to move toward what matters most. Transparent fees cover therapy sessions, related documentation and administrative support.
You may choose to pace sessions in a way that feels both clinically supportive and financially manageable. Many individuals begin with weekly or biweekly sessions and gradually reduce frequency over time, with some choosing occasional maintenance sessions thereafter.

Couch Sessions 🛋️ (indoor) offer a traditional indoor psychotherapy and counselling experience in a calm, private setting designed to foster emotional safety and reflection.
Nature Sessions 🌿 (outdoor) take psychotherapy and counselling outdoors, incorporating elements of the natural environment to enhance grounding, mindfulness, and connection. Therapy offered in outdoor settings can include walking, gentle movement, or seated reflection.
Virtual Sessions 💻 (online) offer psychotherapy and counselling through a secure Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA) compliant online platform. This experience provides accessible, flexible, and effective therapy across Ontario, allowing you to engage in therapy from the comfort of your own space, whether indoors or outdoors.
Standard sessions are one hour in length, consisting of approximately 50 minutes of therapy and 10 minutes dedicated to clinical documentation and administrative tasks specific to your care.
Extended sessions are one and a half hours in length. These sessions consist of approximately 1 hour 20 minutes of therapy and 10 minutes dedicated to clinical documentation and administrative tasks specific to your care.
Any adjustments to session length can certainly be arranged. We simply ask that you discuss such adjustments in advance so we can plan accordingly.
Psychotherapy and counselling services may be eligible for reimbursement through extended health benefits. You are encouraged to confirm coverage directly with your insurance provider. Although direct billing is not available, a detailed receipt is provided for easy self-submission.
Although most psychotherapy and counselling services are not covered by provincial health care plans (such as OHIP), mental health services may be eligible for the Medical Expense Tax Credit (personal income tax).
Payment is kindly required at the time of your session. Contactless options are available for ease and flexibility, accepted methods include major credit cards and e-transfer. Electronic receipts are provided promptly to support simple self-submission to your insurance provider.
We understand—Life happens and cancellations are sometimes impossible to avoid. Unfortunately, anything within 24 hours notice does not allow sufficient time to re-book the appointment reserved especially for you. Therefore, late cancellations or missed appointments (no show) are charged the full session fee.
If you are eligible for mental health counselling through the Non‑Insured Health Benefits Program (NIHB), psychotherapy and counselling services at Mindful Acres may be covered.
Before beginning services, we will help confirm your eligibility and obtain the required pre-authorization from NIHB. Once approved, sessions can typically be billed directly to NIHB according to their coverage guidelines.
Coverage amounts and the number of approved sessions are determined by NIHB and may vary. If you have questions about the process, we are happy to help guide you through the steps. You may also contact NIHB directly at 1-800-640-0642 for inquiries related to Mental Health Counselling benefits.
Individual therapy is collaborative, respectful, and paced in a way that feels manageable. This is a space for you to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. You set the direction; I offer structure, tools, reflection, and steady support.
Together, we will:
- Make space for difficult thoughts and emotions rather than feeling controlled by them
- Clarify what truly matters to you
- Take meaningful steps toward the life you want to live
- Strengthen self-compassion, self-awareness and trust in yourself
- Build practical, sustainable coping skills
Each session is tailored to you — grounded in evidence-based practice, responsive to your lived experience, and paced in a way that feels supportive and empowering. You can choose the setting that feels most supportive — indoors, outdoors in nature, or virtually — and shift formats over time as your needs evolve.
Couple therapy offers a structured and supportive space to slow down, listen more deeply, and reconnect with one another. Sessions are collaborative, respectful, and paced in a way that allows each partner to feel heard and understood.
Together, we will:
- Strengthen communication and learn to navigate conflict more constructively
- Deepen emotional connection and rebuild trust
- Understand patterns that create distance or misunderstanding
- Clarify shared values, needs, and hopes for the relationship
- Develop practical tools to support a more resilient and supportive partnership
This work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Gottman-informed methods, and integrates practical strategies that help couples build understanding, repair after conflict, and nurture lasting connection.
Couple therapy welcomes all partnerships, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, or relationship structure. While many couples seek support to strengthen their relationship, therapy can also provide guidance during periods of transition or separation, helping partners move through change in a thoughtful and respectful way.
